A town proclamation recognizes her work organizing senior outings and making shawls for Greenwich Hospital patients.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo designated Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, as Carol Weigold Day, recognizing her service to seniors and hospital patients. According to the town's proclamation, Weigold has dedicated two decades to the senior community through Greenwich Social Seniors.

Weigold coordinates approximately 14 outings each year for the organization's nearly 150 members, the proclamation states. Those trips range from local theater performances and casino visits to overnight getaways, providing opportunities for seniors to socialize and stay connected.

She also volunteers with Greenwich Hospital's Healing Shawls Project, knitting and crocheting homemade shawls to provide warmth and comfort to patients. According to the proclamation, she is preparing to complete her 100th shawl.
