Greenwich Hospital To End, Transfer Hospice Program: Report
A new contractor is slated to take over the effort.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Hospital will stop offering hospice care in the near future but will transfer the program to the national Vitas Healthcare organization, writes the Greenwich Time.
According to Greenwich Hospital President Norman Roth, maintaining the end-of-life program was becoming economically unfeasible for the hospital, in part because the number of people using it was decreasing due to other organizations offering hospice care in the area.
Additionally, insurance regulations helped curtail the hospital's offering because many providers would not pay for hospice in Connecticut for patients from other states.
