Greenwich Hospital Welcomes First Baby of 2017
The first baby born at this hospital this year was delivered shortly before 4 a.m. Jan. 1.
GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Hospital had its first birth of the year shortly before 4 a.m. New Year's Day.
Former Greenwich residents Zayra Ramos and Ivan Valdez of West Haven were on their way to a Greenwich family party when Zayra started having contractions. They skipped the party and headed for Greenwich Hospital, where they had planned to have the baby all along.
Jayleen was born at 3:53 a.m. and weighed in at 6 pounds, 14 ounces. She joins siblings Xiara, 10, Karena, 9, Angel 4 and Jordan, 3.
