Greenwich Lawyer Nominated for State Superior Court Judgeship
Ed Krumeich is one of four lawyers nominated by the governor on Tuesday.

Greenwich lawyer Edward T. Krumeich II is one of four lawyers nominated by Gov. Dannel Malloy on Tuesday to fill vacancies on the Connecticut Superior Court.
Krumeich, 64, was born and raised in Greenwich, and has long been active in the community. He is a graduate of Hamilton College and Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he was an Editor of the Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. After serving as a law clerk in Cleveland for two years and working in at a New York City law firm for six year, Krumeich returned to Greenwich to join the local firm of Ivey, Barnum & O’Mara in 1983.
“I’m getting excited. It’s been a long process,” Krumeich said Tuesday. Krumeich has been on the list of qualified judicial candidates since 2012. “I am very pleased that the governor has selected me,” Krumeich said.

He added, “I look forward to the challenge and the opportunity to serve the people of Connecticut as a Judge of the Superior Court.”
Krumeich will appear before the state Legislature’s Judicial Committee before his nomination is voted on before the legislative session ends June 3.

Krumeich’s principal areas of practice are litigation, real estate, construction and employment law. He is a member of the American, Connecticut, Fairfield County and Greenwich Bar Associations, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the American and Connecticut Trial Lawyers Associations and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He also is a past President of the Greenwich Bar Association.
Krumeich also has been active in government and civic organizations in Greenwich, including St. Catherine’s Players and The Off Sounders, Greenwich’s men’s a cappella group. He also has served seven terms as a Democratic member of the Board of Estimate and Taxation. He has been Chairman of the Board of Social Services and a member of the Representative Town Meeting.
He lives in Greenwich with his attorney wife Beth. They have two daughters, Sarah and Katie, who Krumeich said “are both studying to be teachers like their grandmother Marie C. Krumeich.
