Greenwich Library To Drop Fines For Overdue Materials

GREENWICH, CT — Effective Sept. 12, Greenwich Library will no longer fine patrons for overdue materials

The library will remove all fines from patrons’ accounts, and there will be no longer be any monetary penalties for returning books, movies, or other regular items past their due dates; overdue fines will still be charged for late museum passes, First Selectman Fred Camillo said in his weekly email newsletter.

Camillo noted that the policy change is in line with other changes made by nationally recognized library systems, and will help improve and increase access to library resources for all Greenwich residents, students and employees.
