Greenwich Lions Club Gives Out Several Awards

Three people were recently honored by the Lions Club for their contributions.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Lions Club gave out several awards during a recent meeting at the Riverside Yacht Club.

Susan Ferris was awarded with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. The honor takes its name from the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones. The Melvin Jones Fellowship was established as Lions Clubs International Foundation’s (LCIF) highest form of recognition to acknowledge an individual’s dedication to humanitarian service.

Nora Parry was the recipient of the Knight of the Blind Award. This honors an outstanding Lion who possesses the highest examples of good character, ideals, purpose and service.

The Ambassador of Sight honor was given to Dr. Inna Lazar. Ambassador of Sight is the Lions Low Vision Center Board commendation for outstanding service to the organization and those they serve. Designated as the Greenwich District’s highest honor, this recognition symbolizes the attributes of generosity, compassion and concern for others.
