Greenwich Man Accused Of Running Home Improvement Scam

The suspect allegedly scammed an elderly victim.

GREENWICH, CT — A 43-year-old Greenwich man was arrested on a warrant this week accusing him of running an alleged home improvement scam on an elderly victim, according to Greenwich police.

Brian T. Danzi, of Henry Street, surrendered to police Monday afternoon and was charged with the following:

  • Second-degree larceny (victim over 60 years old, blind or disabled)
  • Second-degree forgery
  • Offering home repair without a license
  • No notice of cancellation

The alleged crime played out from April to August this year at a home on Hobart Avenue, according to police.

How much Danzi allegedly scammed from the victim was not disclosed, but police said it was in excess of $10,000.

"The investigation revealed that the offender, Brian Danzi, did not have a valid license for the contracted work, proper paperwork to do business as a contractor, and forged documents for work and materials not actually performed or obtained," wrote Greenwich police in a statement.

Danzi was released after posting bond on bail of $34,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 26.
