Greenwich Man Accused Of Threatening To Shoot Up Bank: PD

The alleged incident occurred on Nov. 16.

GREENWICH, CT — A 71-year-old Greenwich man was arrested on a threatening charge after he allegedly said he would return to an unnamed Greenwich bank with a gun following a dispute with bank employees, according to Greenwich police.

Arrested on charges of first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace was Philip Tedeschi, of North Water Street.

According to Greenwich police, Tedeschi, a customer of the unnamed bank on West Putnam Avenue, "became frustrated over the details of a transaction" on Nov. 16.

"While attempting to identify an individual to blame, Tedeschi stated that if he had to come back he wasn't going to be pointing a finger and that he would be pointing a gun instead," wrote Greenwich authorities in a statement. "Tedeschi also stated that it would not be hard to find where one of the employees lived and that he could easily follow the employee home after work."

Tedeschi eventually left the bank, and Greenwich police said that the incident left employees "feeling concerned and caused alarm amongst the the branch."

Officers found Tedeschi and placed him under arrest. He was released after posting a $200 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 30.
