Greenwich Man Arrested With Narcotics, Dangerous Weapon: Police
The incident occurred on West Putnam Avenue.

GREENWICH, CT — A 24-year-old Greenwich man was arrested on narcotics and weapons charges Monday night after police discovered he was in possession of knife and a controlled substance without a prescription, according to Greenwich police.
David R. Giacomara, of River Street, was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for a traffic stop at about 9:30 p.m. on West Putnam Avenue.
According to police, when initially interviewed, Giacomara gave a false name. "Having had several previous encounters with this subject, officers on scene were able to positively identify him."

A search of Giacomara turned up "several Suboxone sublingual films," which is a controlled substance for which Giacomara did not have a current prescription.
"He was also in possession of several used hypodermic needles, which he related he used to inject heroin, and a 'buck' knife with an approximately 4.5 inch blade," wrote police. "He did not provide any reasonable excuse for possessing this weapon."
