Greenwich Man Busted After Alleged Drunken Crash, Cops Say
The incident occurred late on the night of Oct. 24.

GREENWICH, CT — A 22-year-old Greenwich man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and a host of other offenses after he allegedly smashed his vehicle into a utility pole on River Road and drove off, according to Greenwich police.
Christian Umana, of Havemeyer Lane, was pulled over just after 11 p.m. on Oct. 24 after officers were dispatched to the River Road area following a report by a witness of the crash. Umana, who police said caused "significant damage" to the pole, drove off and was found on Havemeyer Lane.
No injuries were reported in the one-vehicle crash, and upon interviewing Umana, officers said he displayed "signs of alcohol impairment." Umana subsequently failed Standardized Roadside Sobriety Tests and was placed under arrest.
