Greenwich Man Killed In I-95 Crash

A car went off the highway and struck a bridge, killing one and injuring two others.

STAMFORD, CT — A Greenwich man was killed and several other vehicle occupants were injured after a single-car crash on I-95 in Stamford Monday July 9 around 4 a.m.

A Honda Accord veered off the northbound side of the highway into a grassy shoulder area before it struck the Wilson Street bridge in Stamford, according to State Police.

Rear passenger Michael Chavez, 28, of Greenwich was declared dead on scene. The operator and another passenger have potentially serious injuries.
