Greenwich Man Killed In Rollover Crash On Route 15 In New Canaan: State Police
State police said the vehicle rolled over onto its roof near a Route 15 rest area in New Canaan.
GREENWICH, CT — A Greenwich man was killed in a rollover crash reported Sunday evening near a rest area on Route 15 in New Canaan, according to Connecticut State Police.
According to an accident information summary provided by state police, Troop G dispatch personnel received 911 calls around 6 p.m. reporting a one-car rollover crash on Route 15 south near the Exit 14 rest area in New Canaan.
A preliminary investigation determined a Subaru Outback was traveling in an undetermined lane when the vehicle hit a crash attenuator for the southbound rest area, then rolled over onto its roof, according to state police.

The driver, identified in the summary as Gary Glenn Berner, 87, of Cos Cob, was extricated from the vehicle and received CPR. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police.
The New Canaan fire and police departments were called to the area to assist with medical aid, and the state Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control in the area, state police said.
