Greenwich Man Tries To Walk Away From Alleged Drunken Crash: PD

The crash occurred just after midnight on May 6.

GREENWICH, CT — A 35-year-old Greenwich man was arrested on driving under the influence after he allegedly tried to walk away from a one-vehicle crash on Mason Street just after midnight on May 6, according Greenwich police.

When officers arrived on the scene they found "a heavily damaged vehicle with the operator identified as Anton Vinar attempting to walk away," said police in a statement. No injuries were reported.

Vinar, who resides on Mason Street, was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which police said he failed.

In addition to DUI, Vinar also was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane. He was released after posting bail of $300 and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on May 21.
