Greenwich To Mark 22nd Anniversary Of 9/11 With Ceremonies
The town will hold two ceremonies to honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.

GREENWICH, CT — The town of Greenwich will mark the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2011 terror attacks with two moving ceremonies.
The annual ceremony at Cos Cob Park and the 9/11 memorial is scheduled to begin at 8:46 a.m. on Sept. 11, the time the first plane crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center.
Col. Francis V. Kelly (Ret.), the brother of Greenwich Board of Education Chair Joe Kelly, will give remarks. Francis was awarded a Bronze Star and numerous other citations for service to the country.

The Glenville Volunteer Fire Company will hold its annual ceremony later that day outside of the station near a memorial piece of steel from Ground Zero. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Greenwich lost 33 people with ties to the town in the attacks.
