Greenwich To Mark Anniversary Of Oct. 7 Attack On Israel

GREENWICH, CT — The town of Greenwich will mark the one-year anniversary of the attack on Israel with a flag raising ceremony at noon on Oct. 7 outside town hall.

The Board of Selectmen on Thursday unanimously approved the raising of the Israeli flag. Memorial candles will be lit and there will also be a moment of silence.

"The terrorist attacks on Oct. 7, 2023 in Israel shocked the world and we in Greenwich continue to show solidarity with the families of those still held hostage. We are praying or their safe return while we also pray for a peaceful end to the conflict," First Selectman Fred Camillo said in his weekly newsletter to the community on Friday.

Also on Oct. 7, Temple Shalom of Greenwich, located at 300 E. Putnam Ave., will hold an event titled "October 7: An Evening of Remembrance and Hope." The event begins at 7 p.m.
