Greenwich Named Top Vacation Spot by Expedia

Greenwich was named one of the best spots in the world to take an extravagant vacation.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich was named as one of the top 10 best places to take an extravagant vacation by Expedia.

"Luxury is in the eye of the beholder, but we know a good thing when we see it," the travel site wrote in a blog post. "That’s why we’ve scoured our resources and travel expertise to find some of the swankiest, most relaxing, beautifully lavish places to take your mind off your money and your money off your mind."

The town is known for attracting wealthy residents and is home to more than 10 billionaires. Some extravagant estates could qualify as vacation spots themselves.

"With four beaches, historical charm, and a tendency to attract the affluent, Greenwich knows a thing or two about living the high life," Expedia wrote.

Greenwich came in 10th on the list of 26 vacation spots.

Expedia recommended tourists check out the Delamar Greenwich Harbor hotel, Tamarack Country Club and Ginger Man among other famous spots in town.
