Greenwich Native Colin Wilson To Play For The Stanley Cup

The 27-year-old is a member of the Nashville Predators.

GREENWICH, CT — For former Greenwich resident Colin Wilson, his nickname with the Nashville Predators is apropos considering the team has reached the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in franchise history.

Playoff Colin Wilson, or Playoff Willy.

He's earned the nickname because he seems to have developed a knack for scoring during the playoffs at a much more prolific pace than during the regular season, reports The Tennessean.

In 13 playoff games this year, Wilson has lit the lamp five times and dished out eight assists for 13 points. His father, Carey Wilson, who played for 10 seasons including a couple with the New York Rangers, never scored more than three playoff goals in a season, accord to HockeyDB.com.

A centerman, Wilson, who lists Greenwich as his place of birth, was a 1st Round draft pick of the Predators in 2008, number 7 overall that year. His best regular season goal tally is 20, which occurred during the 2014-15 season.

Beginning on May 29, the Predators will play its Stanley Cup finals game, against either the Pittsburgh Penguins or the Ottawa Senators.
