Greenwich Parks & Rec Indoor Softball Signup Starts Nov. 13

From the Town of Greenwich: The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that registration for Indoor Softball will begin online for Greenwich residents on Monday, November 13. To register online go to: www.greenwichct.org/webtrac and select “Activity Registration.” Mail-in registration begins Monday, November 27. Application should not be postmarked earlier than November 27. In-person registration at the Parks and Recreation Office begins on Monday, December 11. Non-residents may sign-up starting December 11. Registration remains open until the program is filled. Space is limited and registration is first come, first serve.

The indoor softball clinic will take place at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center on Harding Road in Old Greenwich on Saturdays. The program is available for ages 7 through 14. Participants ages 7 – 10 will meet from 11:00am – 12:00pm and 11 - 14 year olds will meet from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. Participants must be 7 on or before December 31, 2017 and not be turning 15 during the program.

Returning softball director, Rob Kach and instructors will teach the key fundamentals including throwing, catching, hitting, pitching, stealing, and sliding to prepare for the spring and summer seasons. Players interested in participating in the Town of Greenwich Babe Ruth Softball League are encouraged to attend in preparation for the season. Registration for Greenwich Babe Ruth Softball opens on January 8.

Indoor softball starts Saturday, January 6, 2018 and continues until March 3, with a built-in snow date of March 17.
