Greenwich PD Names Latest Officer Of The Month
He received the honor for successfully negotiating to get an armed suicidal subject to put down his weapon and surrender to police.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Police Lt. Eric Scorca was recognized as the department’s latest Officer of the Month, Chief James Heavey announced.
Lt. Scorca is a crisis negotiator with the department, who "successfully got an armed suicidal subject to put down his weapons and surrender to police during an incident last month."
In addition, Lt. Scorca’s leadership in that case, he was also instrumental in the successful resolution of two other similar incidents, where people with knives were threatening to harm themselves.

In accepting his honor, Lt. Scorca praised the officers under his command for their contributions, and he accepted the award on their behalf.
