Greenwich Police Arrest Woman on ID Theft, Larceny Charges
Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect who surrendered to police.

A woman is facing identity and credit theft, and larceny charges after Greenwich Police obtained an arrest warrant for her.
The 48-year-old suspect surrendered on Wednesday to police in Stamford, where she lives, and officers contacted Greenwich Police who formally charged her.
Shele L. Hammett, of 47 Seaton Rd., Stamford, is facing charges of fourth-degree larceny, credit card theft, credit card fraud, receiving goods/services illegally, identity theft and second-degree false statement, according to a Greenwich Police report.

Details surrounding the charges that stem from an incident reported May 11 by a Pemberwick Road resident were not included in the report.
Hammett is being held in lieu of $1,649 bond and is scheduled to return Oct. 15 for an appearance in state Superior Court in Stamford, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
