Greenwich Police Arrests: Disturbing Peace, Fraud, Shoplifting
A Greenwich man was arrested after fighting with another man, attempting to flee and resisting arrest in a recent incident, police said.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department made a number of arrests this week stemming from incidents involving an altercation between two local men, shoplifting from two local businesses and the extradition of a Greenwich man who was involved in fraud, police announced on Thursday.
Michael A. Devita, 33, Greenwich, was arrested Sunday and charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest after officers arrived at a private residence after receiving calls about a fight involving two men shortly after 5:30 p.m., police said.
Devita was arrested on March 14 after officers determined he obstructed the scene by attempting to run out the front door when approached and then then engaged in a fight with officers when they were attempting to take him into custody, police said. Bond was set at $5,000 and Devita will appear in court on the charges at a later time.

Randy Alvarado, 19, who lives in the Bronx, New York, was brought back to Greenwich from the Bergen County Police Department in New Jersey on Monday. Alvarado had a felony arrest warrant out for him out of Greenwich stemming from a second degree larceny charge and fraud that occurred in January 2020, police said. Alvarado is being held by police after not being able to post a $50,000 bond payment. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 12.
Jamie Bianchini, 44, Irvington, New Jersey, was arrested on Monday after police were called to the Central Greenwich business district for report of a shoplifting incident. Officers were made aware of $338 in stolen merchandise from two local businesses, which was then linked to Bianchini.

He was arrested and charged and will appear in court at a later time and was released after promising to appear on his court date, police said.
