Greenwich Police Department Competes For K9 Grant
Be sure to vote for the department to help it win.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department is competing for a K9 grant from trauma and biohazard cleaning company Aftermath to support the department's Police K9 program, officials wrote on the department's Facebook page.
"This year, the Aftermath K9 Grant will award a total of $16,500 in grants that can be used to further established K9 units or to create a brand new ones," wrote Aftermath in a statement. "Communities nationwide will determine the top eight award recipients through popular vote."
The first place prize is a grant of $5,000, which drops by $1,000 for second through fifth place. The final three finishers (sixth, seventh and eighth) will each receive $500 grants.

"The Aftermath K9 Grant was founded to showcase, support, and reward the unique contributions made by K9 units across the country and, indirectly, to recognize and support the communities that we both serve," wrote Greenwich police on Facebook.
Officers and community members nominate and vote for local departments, and the ones with the most votes receive the grants.

"Go VOTE! Encourage everyone to vote between October 18th and November 2nd," wrote Greenwich police.
