Every two years, the Silver Shield Association of the Greenwich Police Department recognizes the work of its officers and the heroic volunteerism of ordinary citizens who came to the aid of someone in need.

This year's awards ceremony was held Sunday afternoon at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center in Glenville that drew hundreds of attendees who enjoyed a festive buffet afterwards.
