Greenwich Police Investigate Burglary; Jewelry Theft

An alarm system alerted police to a break-in of a mid-country home; a large cache of jewelry stolen from local home.

Greenwich Police are investigating the theft of “a significant amount of high-value jewelry” from a Riverside home that was reported on Nov. 10.

According to Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray, a resident of a Riverside Lane home reported the theft of “a significant amount of high value jewelry over the last several weeks” on Nov. 10. Neither a description of the missing jewelry nor its value was available.

On Nov. 8, police discovered the burglary of a Doubling Road home when they responded to a burglar alarm, according to Gray. A panel was cut from a rear door and apparently set off the alarm.

Gray said the thief left with nothing “because the home is vacant and there was nothing of value” inside.
