Update: Greenwich Police Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

The Greenwich man was struck Sunday night.

GREENWICH, CT- Update: The victim was found in the roadway by a Greenwich Police officer who had just gotten off duty, police said.

Police ask residents to keep an eye out for a Mercedes with a damaged front grill.

Original story: A 43-year-old Greenwich man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle Sunday night.

The man was struck around 11 p.m. on East Putnam Avenue near Hillside Road, according to police.

The offending vehicle fled the scene. It is suspected to be a 2006 or later Mercedes Benz M Class with a damaged silver honeycomb grill.

Damage to the grill is on the right side and the vehicle color is unknown.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of his family.
