GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department has launched a new crime data portal, allowing the public access to various crime statistics, trends, and arrest data in the town of Greenwich.

The GPD says the portal is part of the department's "continued commitment to transparency, accountability, and public trust."

"This resource has been developed to provide residents with clear, accessible insight into reported incidents, public safety trends, and law enforcement activity throughout Greenwich," the department said in an announcement. Police emphasized that certain details, including precise incident addresses and select call information, may be withheld or generalized to safeguard active investigations and protect victim privacy in accordance with state and federal law.

Geographic markers may be adjusted to preserve confidentiality.

Additionally, because information is published shortly after incidents take place, police say it has not been fully verified.

"Details may evolve as investigations progress and additional facts are confirmed. We encourage you to use this resource as a reference tool, recognizing that the data may be subject to revision," police said.

The portal and more information can be found here.
