Greenwich Police Marine Section Vessels Pass Inspection
The boats within the Greenwich Police Department's Marine Section recently passed inspection as warmer days are on the horizon.

GREENWICH, CT— The Greenwich Police Department Marine Section had its boats inspected this past weekend, and all was in order, according to a Facebook post from the department.
The Marine Section provides law enforcement, emergency medical services, Homeland Security High Value Asset protection and general assistance to boaters within Town and regional waters. Greenwich is bordered by 31 miles of coastline, and contains approximately 25 square miles of open water within the Long Island Sound, the police said in the post.
The Marine Section is staffed on a year-round basis and supervised by one Sergeant, with one Marine Technician and five Marine Officers

"Each vessel is equipped for all weather operations, search and rescue and EMS/patient transportation. The vessels are also designed to accommodate the department’s divers during dive operations," GPD said in the Facebook post. "We would like to remind everyone to wear flotation devices when boating and please do not drink while boating. Have a great season on Long Island Sound."
