Greenwich Police Officer Retires After Distinguished 24-Year Career

GREENWICH, CT — After a distinguished 24-year career, Sgt. Jeffrey Loock has retired from the Greenwich Police Department.

Loock, who officially retired on April 1, joined the GPD in 2002 after serving in the United States Air Force for four years, the GPD said in an announcement this week.

Over his tenure in Greenwich, Loock served in many roles within the Patrol Division, including as a master police officer and a field training officer.

The GPD cited Loock's expertise in drug and alcohol recognition, as well as drone technology, in helping numerous investigations involving traffic accidents, burglaries, robberies, and motor vehicle thefts.

"Throughout his career, Sergeant Loock has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to public service, duty, and the highest standards of professionalism," the GPD noted.

Loock received numerous honors, such as multiple Officer of the Month awards, letters of recognition and commendation, a certificate of appreciation, and a unit citation award, the GPD said, noting Loock's career was "marked by a consistent record of exemplary service and professional achievement."

"His commitment to excellence has also been recognized by external organizations such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the American Red Cross, in addition to the many letters of appreciation he has received from members of the community," the GPD said.

"The Greenwich Police Department extends its sincere gratitude to Sergeant Loock for his many years of dedicated service and invaluable contributions to both the Department and the Greenwich community."
