Two Greenwich police officers took home Officer of the Month honors for their recent investigative work.
GREENWICH, CT — Two Greenwich police officers received Officer of the Month honors for their "exceptional police work and dedication to combating organized retail and financial crime," according to an announcement from the Greenwich Police Department.
Officers Jack Livingston and Alex DeLuca received the awards for their work this past summer.
In July, while assigned to the GPD's Organized Retail Crime Abatement (ORCA) Unit, Livingston and DeLuca were credited with 17 arrests involving payment card fraud, larceny, identity theft, impersonation, and other financial crimes, the department said. They also completed three additional arrest warrants for suspects who were not apprehended at the time of the original incidents.

"Many of these cases began through proactive observations and developed into larger investigations involving organized theft groups operating across multiple states," police said in an announcement. "Their work resulted in numerous arrests and significant asset forfeiture seizures, including approximately $18,000 in cash and $240,000 worth of jewelry in one investigation. Subsequent search warrants uncovered information related to more than 300 stolen payment cards and over $80,000 in alleged fraudulent transactions."
Information gathered from the officers' investigations has been shared with the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations and other law enforcement partners, the GPD said.

"Their expertise also led to an invitation from prosecutors at Stamford Superior Court to present their recent cases during an in-service training," the GPD added. Their initiative, investigative skill, and commitment to our local business and law enforcement communities exemplify the professionalism and dedication we are proud to recognize."
