Greenwich Police To Ramp Up Traffic Enforcement On Distracted Driving
The department noted that driving with a cell phone in your hand could come with a $200 ticket for a first offense.
GREENWICH, CT — From now through the end of October, the Greenwich Police Department and other departments throughout the state will conduct high-visible enforcement aimed at distracted drivers.
In a Facebook post this week, the GPD said that in Connecticut last year, there were over 5,400 crashed attributed to distracted driving.
"Parents, please remind your 16 and 17-year-old drivers they are prohibited from using a cell phone or mobile device at any time when driving, even with a hands-free accessory," the GPD said on Facebook.
