Greenwich Police Sergeant Awarded Clarke Award

The award is described as the most prestigious that can be awarded to a Greenwich Police Department member.

GREENWICH, CT- Greenwich Police Sgt. Mark Zuccerella has been awarded the Dr. John. A. Clarke Award for his dedication to the community.

Zuccerella is a Greenwich native.

The award ceremony is hosted by the Lions Club of Greenwich and the award is named after the club's first president and medical adviser of the Police Department from 1923 to 1944. Each year the department's chief selects a department member who performed outstandingly.

"In particular, his expertise in overseeing the Special Victims Section are reflective of his compassion for those he serves," said Deputy Chief Mark Marino.

Marino added that Zuccerella has a sincere drive to make Greenwich a safer place to live and that it shows in his work.
