Greenwich Police Warn Of Lottery Scams
Police are advising residents about recent scams involving phony lottery prize winnings.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department is warning about scams involving the lottery in light of recent reports from residents.
Police said residents have received letters from "Highlight Lottery Inc.," claiming they've won an international lottery, along with a check that must be cashed to cover taxes and fees.
"Once you cash the check, which will eventually get returned as non-payable, they can get access to your bank account and withdraw your money," police said. "Do not cash these checks or give any personal information to people you do not know. "
