GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department received a complaint Wednesday about an email scam that purports to be Greenwich Police Chief James Heavey.
Included in the email is a fake letter with a letterhead addressed from police headquarters that asks for payment. The letter is falsely signed by Heavey.
Capt. Mark Zuccerella of the GPD assured residents that no such email is being sent by the department, and any email like it should be ignored or deleted.
