Greenwich Policeman's Ball To Celebrate Police Department's 130th Anniversary

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund will host its annual Policeman's Ball on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Riverside Yacht Club to commemorate the GPD's 130th anniversary.

The black-tie gala will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will bring together community leaders, residents, supporters of law enforcement and friends of the Greenwich Police Department to celebrate the department's 130 years of service, dedication and commitment to the Greenwich community.

The evening will include dinner, dancing, special tributes and recognition of the department's past, present and future.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the GPD Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit organization that awards college scholarships to eligible children of Greenwich police officers based on academic ability, character and financial need.

"Reaching 130 years is an extraordinary milestone for the Greenwich Police Department and our entire community," Greenwich Police Chief Jim Heavey said in an announcement. "This celebration is about honoring the generations of officers who have served Greenwich with integrity and professionalism, while also investing in the next generation through scholarships that help students pursue their dreams."

The gala is co-chaired by Stephanie Dunn Ashley and Joe Kelly, who is running for the CT State Senate in District 36.

"This event represents the deep connection between the Greenwich Police Department and the community it serves," Kelly said. "The Scholarship Fund allows us to create meaningful educational opportunities while also recognizing the dedication and sacrifices made by members of the Department throughout its 130-year history."

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available for individuals, families, businesses and organizations.

Additional ways to support the event include sponsoring a Greenwich police officer's attendance, purchasing advertising in the commemorative program journal and contributing directly to the scholarship fund.

Sponsorship opportunities range from $5,000 for the Captain Sponsor level to $25,000 for the Police Commissioner Sponsor level.

Depending on the sponsorship level, benefits may include event tickets, access to a VIP Patron Cocktail Party on Oct. 1, early entrance to the cocktail reception, a photo opportunity with Heavey, logo placement, recognition in event marketing materials and advertising in the printed Policeman's Ball program.

Program advertising options include premium cover placement as well as full-page, half-page and quarter-page advertisements.
