Greenwich Resident Ray Dalio Earns 10-Figures in 2016: Report

It was another good year for Dalio who once again earned more than a billion dollars.

GREENWICH, CT — Hedge fund founder and Greenwich resident Ray Dalio earned an estimated $1.4 billion in 2016, according to Forbes.

Dalio is the founder of Bridgewater Associates, which manages about $160 billion and is based in Westport. He is among the highest earners in the hedge fund world.

The Pure Alpha hedge fund returned 2.4 percent, his All Weather fund returned 11.6 percent and Pure Aplha Major Markets returned 12.9 percent all net of fees.

Average hedge funds returned 5.6 percent net of fees in 2016 compared to a 12 percent return of the Standard & Poor's 500 index.

Dalio earned an estimated $1.4 billion in 2015.
