Greenwich Residents Urged To Prepare For Hurricane Season
Hurricane season officially begins June 1.
GREENWICH, CT — Hurricane season doesn't officially begin until June 1, but Greenwich residents are being encouraged to prepare now.
"The first step in preparedness is understanding your risk. While hurricanes pose the greatest threat, tropical storms and even tropical depressions can still cause significant damage," Greenwich Emergency Management said in an announcement on Wednesday.
"These storms—collectively known as tropical cyclones—bring multiple hazards, including storm surge, inland flooding, damaging winds, tornadoes, and dangerous surf conditions," the announcement added.
