Greenwich RTM Member Pinched Town Employee's Groin: Warrant

The member is facing a misdemeanor charge.

GREENWICH, CT — Representative Town Meeting member Chris von Keyserling was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault Wednesday.

He was arrested by warrant for a Dec. 9 incident, according to the Greenwich Time.

His lawyer Phil Russell said the incident took place at the Nathaniel Witherell Home and he had a "jocular" moment with a woman that was a playful gesture. He intends to plea not guilty.

However, a warrant described a more tenuous scene.

A 57-year-old woman encountered von Keyserling in the hallway of a town building. The two talked politics for a bit and the woman said it was a new world politically, according to the Daily Voice, which obtained the arrest warrant.

He replied that in the new world he didn't have to be politically correct and the woman replied back that if he was proud of that she couldn't help him, according to the Voice. He then called her a lazy bloodsucking union employee and later pinched her in the groin area.

Police said surveillance video is consistent with events described by the complainant.
