Greenwich Scouting to Host 'Joining Night'

A town-wide open house for Cub Scouts will be held at all town elementary schools.

Greenwich Scouting is hosting a town-wide Joining Night for all boys ages 7 to 10 who are interested in joining the Cub Scouts.

The Joining Night will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Glenville, Hamilton Avenue, Old Greenwich, Cos Cob, North Street, Julian Curtiss and Parkway elementary schools.

Youngsters and their families will be able to meet fellow Cub Scouts and adult leaders, participate in fun Scouting activities and learn more about what makes Scouting such a blast. Visit www.GreenwichScouting.org for additional School Night locations and dates.

Designed for boys ages 7 to 10, Cub Scouting combines outdoor activities, sports, academics, and teaches ideals including honesty, good citizenship and respect. There are currently eight Cub Scout Packs throughout the town of Greenwich that hold Pack and Den meetings, take adventurous trips, help boys earn Scouting awards and get outdoors.

There are nearly 1,750 Greenwich youths participating in the programs that run by 250 volunteers.
