Greenwich Store Employee Shoved, Cell Phone Snatched: Cops

The incident occurred at the Sephora store on Greenwich Avenue.

GREENWICH, CT — A Sephora store employee in Greenwich was shoved during a shoplifting incident on Saturday, July 22, and had their cell phone snatched away from him as he tried to film the thieves, according to police.

No injuries were reported in the theft on Greenwich Avenue, in which a few hundred dollars worth of items were stolen from the beauty products store.

Greenwich police said that three female shoplifters hit the store just after 3 p.m., but when employees tried to confront them they quickly exited the store to nearby Liberty Way.

As they left, one employee tried to film them outside when a fourth suspect, who was male, shoved the employee and snatched the Samsung Galaxy phone out of his hands and fled.

Police did not disclose descriptions of the suspects, but the case remains under investigation.
