Greenwich Students To Receive 2021 Community Service Awards

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Public Schools students will receive community service awards for participation in service activities during a virtual ceremony Wednesday.

According to a news release, the ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. over Zoom. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

"The community service awards recognize students who have dedicated their time and energy to passion projects that improve their school, local, and global communities," Superintendent Toni Jones said in a news release. "I am so grateful for the work of these students and their commitment to our District Norm to Care for Self and Others."

First Selectman Fred Camillo, Board of Education Chair Peter Bernstein and Jones will share remarks during the ceremony, and school principals and house administrators will present awards to the elementary, middle and high school student recipients.

Ernest Fleishman, who served as the district's superintendent of schools from 1976 to 1989, will present the Fleishman Award for Community Service to two high school students that have made outstanding contributions to their community. All students will also receive state citations in recognition of their accomplishments.
