Greenwich Teen Competes for Miss Connecticut Title
Pippa Leigh is preparing for the competition that's being held at Mohegan Sun with the finals scheduled for Saturday night.
Greenwich resident Pippa Leigh is vying for the title of Miss Connecticut as the pageant kicked off Tuesday at the Mohegan Sun Luxury Hotel in Uncasville.
Leigh, who graduated this month from Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich is one of 13 competitors from across Connecticut competing for the title and the opportunity to represent Connecticut in the Miss America pageant in September.
Earlier this year, Leigh was chosen as Miss Hockanum Valley 2015. Since then, she has become a familiar face at various events in Greenwich. and at the town-owned The Nathaniel Witherell nursing home and River House, the Greenwich adult day care center in Cos Cob, working with seniors.

Leigh arrived at the competition Tuesday wearing Greenwich-based couture designer Katie Fong’s allusion dress in white.
“I am so honored to wear couture designer, Katie Fong’s gorgeous dresses during pageant week events! Katie is a Greenwich-based designer who has achieved success in her career at such a young age. She is a great role model,” Leigh said in a statement.

Leigh will wear other dresses designed by Fong during appearances this week.
Miss Connecticut preliminary competition will be held at 7:30 p.m. June 26, with the finals to be held at 8 p.m. June 27.
