Greenwich United Premier 2004 Boys Take Home the Prestigious Needham Memorial Day Tournament Champs Title!

An impressive record for the OGRCC's Greenwich United boys soccer team.

Old Greenwich, CT May 30th, 2017 – This past weekend OGRCC’s travel soccer teams were invited to play in the prestigious Needham Memorial Day Tournament. This invitational tournament is one of the oldest and highest ranked Memorial Day Tournaments in the country for premier and town teams. Top caliber teams from throughout the Eastern United States, Canada and England. More than 1000 teams attended this past weekend, making it the largest soccer tournament in North America.

OGRCC’s talented Greenwich United U13 led by Coach Alan Marsh had a fantastic weekend playing with true heart, talent and determination. A strong team of sixteen kids, kicked their way to the finals on Monday, May 29th against the home team favorite FC Stars West United. In an exciting championship game, the boys fought hard to secure a win with a 3-2 final score.

They played a total of five games all weekend. Four total wins and one tie which earned them the 2017 spring championship title!
