Greenwich Woman Arrested After Causing Hit-And-Run Crash: PD

The crash occurred on the night of Aug. 26.

GREENWICH, CT — A 43-year-old Greenwich woman was arrested after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash she caused on Riverside Avenue the night of Aug. 26, according to Greenwich police.

Ruth Dilworth, who told police she has been living on Brookside Drive for two years, was charged with evading responsibility, failure to drive in the proper lane and driving with a foreign license for more than 30 days.

Details of how she caused the 8 p.m. crash were not disclosed, but Greenwich police said that while Dilworth's registration was left at the scene, she split before officers arrived.

She was found to have a valid Washington State driver's license, but did not have a Connecticut one despite living in the state for the last two years, according to police.

Dilworth was released after posting a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 10.
