Update: Charges Dismissed In Harassment Arrest

Former gubernatorial, U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives candidate Lee Whitnum-Baker was arrested for harassment in Woodbridge.

Update: The case against Whitnum-Baker was dismissed. She has since filed a lawsuit against the Town of Woodbridge and claims she was falsely arrested as no protective order was in place at the time of the arrest. The case is pending in federal court.

Original story: Woodbridge Police arrested a former political candidate who ran for governor, U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.

Police served Lisa Whitnum-Baker, 55, of Greenwich with an outstanding warrant on August 11. She was charged with two counts each of second-degree harassment and criminal violation of a protective order.

Her arrest stems from an investigation into two separate incidents in which she allegedly made contact with a town resident in violation of a court issued protective order, according to police.

She was released after posting a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
