GREENWICH, CT — Hadley Palmer, a 54-year-old Greenwich socialite who pleaded guilty earlier this year to several voyeurism charges and risking injury to a child, was sentenced on Tuesday in Stamford to one year in jail followed by 20 years of probation, according to the Associated Press.

As part of a plea deal which was entered in January, Palmer must also register as a sex offender for 10 years. Also as part of the plea deal, Palmer served 90 days in prison this past spring at the York Correctional Institute in Niantic, CT, to ensure that she would serve at least the full minimum sentence. The state recommended a sentence of 90 days to five years in prison.

The New York Times reported that Palmer owns a $10 million 19th-century Victorian home which overlooks the Long Island Sound in the exclusive Belle Haven neighborhood of Greenwich. The Times also noted that Palmer has four children, and is the daughter of Jerrold Fine, who started one of the first hedge funds in the 1970's in Westport, CT.

Details of the case are sparse since court documents were sealed in February by Judge John F. Blawie of the Connecticut Superior Court. At the time, Blawie included a summary of the sealed documents in his ruling on sealing the court record.

"Between 2017 and 2018, the defendant knowingly photographed, filmed and recorded certain individuals without their knowledge or consent, and under circumstances where those individuals were not in plain view, and had a reasonable expectation of privacy, and at least one photograph taken by the defendant depicted a person who was a minor," Blawie wrote.

On Tuesday in court, according to the Hearst CT, Stamford-Norwalk State’s Attorney Paul Ferencek said Palmer used the recordings to "arouse her sexual desire and that of an unnamed third party."

Palmer's lawyer Michael Meehan said Palmer is "extremely remorseful for her conduct," Hearst CT reported.

On Oct. 25, 2021, Palmer turned herself in to the Greenwich Police Department on a warrant that charged her with: risk of injury to a child; three counts of voyeurism; employing a minor in obscene performance; conspiracy to commit/employ a minor in obscene performance; and second-degree possession of child pornography, according to an arrest report from the GPD.

In January of this year, Palmer agreed to plead guilty to three counts of voyeurism and one count of risk of injury to a child, according to court records. The other charges were dropped.
