Greenwich Woman Sues Party City After Firing: Report
A Greenwich woman is suing her former employer, Party City, alleging she lost her job after getting pregnant.
GREENWICH, CT — A Greenwich woman is suing her former employer, Party City, alleging she lost her job after getting pregnant, the Stamford Advocate reports. Lyndsay Cafagno had been working for Party City since 2012 and mostly worked remotely, according to the lawsuit.
According to the Stamford Advocate, the lawsuit alleges Cafagno became pregnant in the fall of 2017 and was given a leave of absence, but was terminated in April 2018 "without proper explanation or justification." The lawsuit cites both the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and the Connecticut Fair Employment Practices Act.
