Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Connecticut Today

Get used to the words 'severe weather threat,' you’ll be reading and hearing about it a lot unfortunately over the next week in Connecticut. The National Weather Service has issued a 'Hazardous Weather Outlook' for the entire state for Tuesday due to the possibility of some severe weather.
For all of southern Connecticut, the weather service writes, “An upper level disturbance will allow for the development of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. There is an isolated severe threatwith the strongest storms, with damaging winds and hail the primary threat.”
For Hartford and Tolland counties, the weather service writes, “Scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon with a few strong to severe storms possible. Main risks are gusty winds and hail.”

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said, “Early rain will move out followed by some sunshine. Also, expect a thunderstorm this afternoon. High temperatures will be in the 70s. I'm expecting nice weather tonight with clearing skies lows in the 50s, perfect sleeping weather! Sunny skies for a top 10 weather day tomorrow with highs near 80. Get ready for a lot of humidity at the end of the week through the coming weekend!”

Here’s the updated forecast from the National Weather Service:
Tuesday: Chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temps near 80. Clearing late tonight.
Wednesday: Great day, sun and temps in the upper 70s.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and a chance for showers and storms at night. High near 82.
Friday: You guessed it, more showers and storms. High in the mid 80s but there may be periods of some sun too.
Saturday: Some sun and of course chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temps in the mid 80s.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temps in the mid 80s.
