Southern CT Weather: Lots of Rain, Thunderstorms In Forecast

If you love clouds, thunderstorms, flooding, and lots of rain, then you'll love this weather forecast.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for all of Southern Connecticut in what is shaping up to be an absolutely dreadful week of weather. Since it rained on Saturday and today, it's possible we could see rain for nine straight days! There is no sun in the forecast through next weekend. And we could see some strong to possibly severe thunderstorms on Tuesday and flooding concerns too.

I'm sorry there is just no good news in this forecast, except that we shouldn't have to talk about drought conditions for a long time. In its Hazardous Weather Outlook, the National Weather Service says, "There is potential for thunderstorm development ahead of an approaching cold front Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday Evening. Some of these storms could reach severe intensity. Additionally, there is a threat for flash flooding if multiple storms move over the same area."

As for the present, temps will be chilly tonight and fog may be a concern. Temps will be warmer Monday and most cloudy and dry but rain is expected to move in late Monday and then we could see some rain for everyday of the rest of the week.

"An unsettled pattern then sets up for the remainder of the week with mild temperatures, increased humidity and chances of rain. There will be a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening," the weather service says.
