CT Weather: Week Of Rain Showers, Humidity And Flooding Concerns

It's no secret that this is not going to be a great weather week for Connecticut as clouds, rain showers, thunderstorms, and very humid conditions will dominate this week. The National Weather Service provides the answer as to why the weather will be so poor this week.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for all of Connecticut for the week ahead. For Southern Connecticut, the weather service says, "An approaching frontal system late Tuesday night into Thursday morning could produce showers and thunderstorms capable of causing flash flooding. It is still too early to pinpoint exact timing and locations to be impacted."

For Northern Connecticut, the weather service says, "Scattered showers and thunderstorms will bring locally heavy downpours. An isolated severe thunderstorm or localized flash flood is possible."

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said, "On the dreary side today with lots of humidity and some on or off rain at times. High temperatures in the 70s to around 80. Very humid tonight! I do expect some breaks of sunshine tomorrow with a lower chance of rain! The rain and the high humidity comes right back in for Wednesday."

A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Southeast wind 10 to 13 mph.

A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. Southeast wind 10 to 14 mph.
