CT Weather: Thunderstorms Thursday AM Followed By Heatwave

The weather gets very interesting late tonight and Thursday's morning commute looks to be a real mess. Here are the updated, new details.

The heat and humidity will arrive on Friday and stick around for awhile as temps exceed 90 degrees in parts of Connecticut. But before the heat and humidity takes over, there is a good chance we'll wake up early Thursday to thunderstorms and isolated downpours.

In a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Southern Connecticut, the National Weather Service says, "Heat will build across the region Friday through Monday. There is the risk of reaching heat advisory criteria with heat indices and/or temperatures at or above 95 degrees for two or more consecutive days."

For Northern Connecticut, the weather service says for Thursday, "Heavy rain associated with showers and embedded thunderstorms could yield urban and poor drainage flooding, especially in the typically prone locations."
